What is Fight for Our Future?

The problem

Our planet is in crisis. We are currently in the midst of a climate emergency, and are witnessing the large-scale impacts climate change is having, disproportionately harming the most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.

The consequences of climate change are far-reaching, including rising sea levels, more frequent and severe weather events, species extinction, and disruptions to agriculture and water supplies. These changes pose significant threats to entire ecosystems, affecting both humans and animals.

The scientific consensus is clear: without substantial reductions in carbon emissions and the sustainable management of natural resources, the impacts of climate change will grow increasingly devastating and irreversible.

We need action, urgently.

Animal agriculture and climate change

Animal Outlook’s mission is to expose the truth about animal agriculture and inspire change, empowering people to eat vegan as a powerful way to protect animals and the planet.

Animal agriculture is one of the top three contributors of climate change, along with fossil fuel consumption and deforestation.

It’s estimated that more than 16.5% of greenhouse gasses come from animal agriculture, which is no surprise considering that globally, more than 92.2 billion farmed land animals are raised and slaughtered annually.

The intensive farming of billions of animals worldwide releases massive amounts of carbon dioxide and methane into the atmosphere. According to the United Nations’ Environment Programme (UNEP), animal agriculture is responsible for 37% of emissions of methane, a gas with a global warming impact 20 times greater than carbon dioxide.

The University of Colorado also states that animal agriculture produces 65% of the world's nitrous oxide emissions, a greenhouse gas with a global warming impact 296 times greater than carbon dioxide.

We simply cannot ignore the devastating impact animal agriculture is having on both animals and our planet.

The solution

Eating vegan is one of the most impactful actions we can take for animals and to combat climate change. This is why we empower everyone to make the compassionate choice to eat vegan.

However, there’s more we can do to take action.

Organizations need to take responsibility for the climate crisis and take immediate action.

Sustainable practices can drive cost savings, increase market opportunities, and enhance efficiency. As consumers increasingly seek environmentally conscious products, companies risk losing market share if they fail to act.

By embracing sustainability, corporations not only contribute to a healthier planet but also secure their own long-term viability and demonstrate leadership in innovation and sustainability.

It’s a win-win for organizations, and their actions will help both animals and the planet.

Fight for Our Future

As a community of dedicated animal advocates, we have the power to call for change from organizations. Organizations that have the ability to invest in a more sustainable future and choose not to support animal cruelty. It is their responsibility, and we must hold them accountable.

It’s time to fight for our future.

Whether it be calling for a compassionate purchasing policy at an NGO, demanding a sustainability event to be vegan, or working to make changes in our own workplace – we can hold organizations accountable and urge them to make more sustainable and compassionate choices.

By collectively calling on organizations to make these changes, we can save the lives of countless animals and prevent them from having to endure a miserable existence within the animal agriculture industry.
